Regional School Districts Working Together

As the largest regional school district (RSD) in MA, the Wachusett Regional School District (WRSD) is extremely concerned about the unfunded mandates that are affecting our school district and 5 central Massachusetts towns.

As the years go on, it seems that we cut more and more from our budget so that the 5 towns can afford to pay their assessment.  We all know that the funding formula is broken and this has a huge impact.  That is not such an easy fix for the state, but there is one very easy fix that was highlighted in Auditor Bump’s 2017 report,  Supporting Student and Community Success: Updating the Structure and Finance of Massachusetts Regional School Districts.

We are 58 RSDs in over 170 communities, educating over 107,000 students.  Working together, we can get the state to listen and pay what they promised.
