100% Transportation Funding Campaign – It’s gaining steam!!! There are over 2400 signatures now on our on-line petition, but it’s a bit stalled out. Could you try sharing again, especially with those who live in other regional school districts that would benefit from this funding as well? And then ask them to share too.

We’re attempting to spread this campaign across the state. The superintendents of all 58 academic regional districts have been contacted to let them know about it. We’re working on reaching out to PTOs in those districts as well. We’ve created a version of our form letters that can be used by any regional school district in the state. Ultimately, we plan to create a section on our website like our “TAKE ACTION” menu for all regional school districts.

Many thanks to those in the WRSD staff who took the time to write letters for the letter writing campaign. Over 400 were written! Look at this stack of letters…

Only 2 days until Governor Baker’s budget comes out on 1/24. After this, it will be important to re-target our letter writing campaign to the House of Representatives. Rep. Jeffrey Sanchez is the head of House Ways and Means, so he’s the person to target. After a few questions, a page was added to the website which explains why we’re targeting certain people, find it here.

Mass Association of Regional Schools(MARS) – We’ve been invited by Steve Hemman of MARS to make a presentation about our efforts at the MARS general meeting on 2/13. If anyone would like to come along, please let us know; we’d love for you to join us. The meeting is at 9:30 in Westford.

Paxton Meeting – Very thankful for those who attended our last meeting in Paxton. We had a lively discussion about the superintendent’s budget proposal and started planning for town meeting time in May……yard signs, phone banks, meeting attendance, etc. See the notes here.

Our Next Meeting – Our next meeting is in Princeton on 2/7 at 7pm. We’ll have a casual meet-up in Princeton – Upstairs at the Thirsty Lab. If you’ve been wondering what a meeting is like, please come along. Bring a friend. Flyer can be found here.
